- There are two types of screens: glossy or matte. Glossy provides a better multimedia viewing experience, whereas matte provides a better outdoor visibility experience. Notably, it is possible to put a matte filter on top of a glossy screen, when you want to use the device outdoors, but it's impossible to add a glossy filter to a matte screen.
